ABC Language Proficiency Program
The Brazilian Resource Center is the leading 501(c)(3) non-profit organization fully focused on assisting the low-income, homeless and immigrant community on Cape Cod and the Islands. We provide direct services, collaboration with governmental and non-profit organizations, and community-building activities to over 8000 residents, many of whom use multiple services many times a year.
Our Mission
The ABC Language Proficiency Program is dedicated to teaching English as a Second Language and Portuguese to newcomers and international students from around the world, providing both in-person and long-distance classes (ZOOM) creating an unforgettable experience for a lifetime.
Our Goal
To enable limited English proficient students to become competent in the comprehension, speaking, reading, and composition of the English language through the integrated use of second language methods.
Classes days and levels of English we offer: Beginners, Level I, Level II, Level III Mondays 6:30 - 8:30pm Tuesdays: 6:30 to 8:30pm Wednesdays: 6:30 to 8:30pm Thursdays: 6:30 to 8:30pm

Self-care is essential for every woman’s well-being. Thinking about the importance of women’s empowerment and self-esteem, we have developed a self-makeup course for the women in our community. New course dates coming soon!
fisherman Training course
We have developed a Fisherman Training Course in partnership with Fisherman’s Alliance, TDIDevelopment and MassDevelopment. The three-day course includes training and job introduction to the local fishing industry. Check out our photos! New dates coming soon!

Our wellness programs are designed to cater to all fitness levels and interests, providing an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

Medical Clinic
In partnership with Dr. Kevin Bresnahan, Barnstable County, and the Cape Cod Medical Reserve Corps.
At Bridge Care we understand that it can be difficult to access health care. Many do not have insurance, and wait times to see a provider can be very long.
Bridge Care can offer solutions while patients await primary care. We can help with acute care issues, prescription medications, work and school physical clearances
There are no fees or charges for these services.
MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
Mental health is a crucial component of overall well-being. This program is dedicated to providing comprehensive and culturally sensitive services to help individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve mental wellness. We offer a safe and supportive environment where members of the community can seek help, share their experiences, and work towards improved mental health.

YOUTH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Youth After School Program is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for children and teenagers. Our program aims to promote personal growth and social development through a variety of activities and resources that cater to the diverse needs of our youth.
FOOD PANTRY AND COMMUNITY GARDEN
The Brazilian Resource Center is committed to addressing food insecurity and promoting sustainable living through our Food Pantry and Community Garden programs. These initiatives aim to provide nutritious food to those in need and foster a sense of community and self-reliance by encouraging local food production.
Agricultural Education Program
4H Gardening & Science Club – Pilot Program
Join our pilot gardening and science club for youth, running every Monday from April 21 to June 30, 2025, at Moose Lodge in Yarmouth.
Hands-on Learning: Grow fruits, vegetables, and greens in raised beds and containers.
STEM-Based Activities: Explore plant science with interactive lessons from 4H educational materials.
Outdoor Adventures: Take field trips to Dennis Conservation Land Trust for nature walks and wildlife studies.
Expert Talks & Leadership: Learn from guest speakers, develop leadership skills, and present projects.
Special Opportunities: Participate in fairs, Agriculture Day at the State House, summer camps, and national trips.
